Reference Interval

The therapeutic range for dicloxacillin is poorly documented. Similiar effects to that of flucloxacillin have been reported in a study by Roder et al. Therefore it is reasonable to expect peak concentrations of the order of 30 umol/L one hour after the administration of a 1 g dose, as with flucloxacillin (as reported in Goodman and Gillman). Higher concentrations would be expected following intramuscular injection.

Additional Information

Depending on the information required the specimen should be collected pre-dose, one hour post dose, or both.
