Interpretation

Measures the ability of the granulocyte to undergo oxidative burst compared to a normal sample run at the same time. 

Useful in the diagnosis of Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD).
Additional Information

A control specimen MUST be included with specimens being sent from outside Christchurch so that the effects of transport and storage can be ascertained.

Please NOTE if the laboratory is not given at least 24 hours notice that a sample is being sent then an urgent charge will be applied to this test.

This test is not offered as an urgent assay and will not be processed if received at the weekend.

This test replaces the NBT assay.
